We have 2,000 members but only about 40 post regularly. Feels like it's failing.
That's roughly a 2% active-contributor rate, which is actually close to typical - most communities run near a 90-9-1 pattern.
I wouldn't read this as failing.
The more useful move is shifting that curve: what's the actual barrier to a first post right now - does someone have to come up with a topic from scratch, or is there a low-effort way to participate?
Lowering that barrier tends to move more people from lurker to occasional contributor than asking for more posts directly.
