I'd change that.
'You're a math person' is person-level praise tied to a fixed trait, and research shows it can backfire the moment this student hits a harder problem later - they may read a future struggle as proof they were wrong about being 'a math person.' I'd rewrite it as: 'Great work - your approach to breaking this problem into steps was really effective, especially how you checked your answer at the end.'
